Interventions or programs for ethnically diverse students experiencing tensions?
I’m working on a psychology assignment; There is a hypothetical school where the students are “experiencing severe tensions around differences”. I need to find three programs or interventions based on psychological research that will help alleviate the problems. I’ve already written about the “eye-color racism” experiment of Jane Elliott, and so I only need two more. Does anyone know of any other programs, backed by a psychological study, that I can use?
What about using Pavlov? Yes, he worked with dogs, but if dogs can be conditioned to salivate, couldn’t people be conditioned to experience “tensions?” I think we’re all conditioned by our elders/peers as to what we feel/think/understand about our differences. Do your own study and use that as a base….Perhaps find what the students assume or what makes them have these tense feelings, say they think that people with long fingernails can’t tie shoes properly. Then have 10 people with long finger nails tie their shoes properly…
